During the summer of 2023 I had a week at UCA’s Brewery tap – project space. Spending the time connecting with the sea while building an ever changing exhibition. Visitors could see how I was progressing or catch sight of me in various locations. Each time they passed by the space it would have changed and altered.

UNDERTOW represents a snapshot of my time in Folkestone. Linked with the films Sub Strata & Equinox filmed at Live art Ireland & Level Centre Derbyshire they form the initial research phase for a new project going into 2024 – 2027.

The sea has always held an important space in my life, constantly calling me back to it. Possibly it’s due to living in the most landlocked area of the UK, I value my time with the sea. Feeling how the solid shifts to the changeable.
